CoCredo’s MD, Dan Hancocks, has been overwhelmed to find out that he has been nominated as a finalist in this year’s Oxford Hospital’s Annual Awards, in the Charity Supporter of the Year category.
Now in its eighth year, the Annual Staff Recognition Awards provides an opportunity for staff at the hospital to be nominated by colleagues in recognition of their dedication, hard work and outstanding achievements, which exemplify the values of the Trust.
Over 1,600 people were nominated for special recognition this year, across 12 award categories including Doctor of the Year; Nurse/Midwife of the Year; Allied Health Professional/Pharmacist/Healthcare Scientist of the Year and Oxford Charity Supporter of the Year to name but a few.
All nominations were independently assessed by either staff or patient representatives (depending on the Award category) before a Trust panel determined the overall winners.
The winners will be announced on the night at the Oxford Town Hall on 4th December 2019.
Over the last 7 years, Dan has helped to raise a staggering £175,000 for the Oxford Children’s Hospital (OCH) through the golf days that he helps to organise in his spare time. The money has been used for a variety of pieces of equipment such as this year dedicated diathermy equipment was purchased, which will mean quicker treatment and fewer hospital visits for children being treated by the gastroenterology team.
Commenting on this Dan said, “This nomination was so unexpected, and I am totally overwhelmed by it. I help to raise funds for this amazing hospital as a way of saying thank you for saving my son’s life in 2010. The OCH still support my son medically and no doubt will continue to do so throughout his life. I owe them a great deal. It was so lovely of the hospital to put me forward for this award. I am up against some very worthy winners and I wish them all the best on the night.”
