During the lockdown, the CoCredo team have taken it in turns to attend the CICMQ zoom sessions that have been held most weeks since March.
We have found them informative, fun and a great way to network with other credit professionals. If you’re not aware of them the CICMQ Best Practice Zoom Sessions are for Operational Credit Professionals who are members of the CICM, CICMQ Organisations and invited guests.

We are always looking for ways to make our products and services the best they can be, therefore, we have made a couple of improvements to our system that we would like to tell you about.
Secure upload systems
We have made some changes to the data upload functions as we have been trying to make this section more user friendly and intuitive.
The lovely Gemma from Customer Services left this week to go on maternity leave. She is having a well-earned break before her bundle of fun arrives in March.
Emma, who has been working alongside Gemma in a part-time capacity, will now work full-time in the role, so you shouldn't see a difference in the level of service we offer our customers.
If your business has been affected by Brexit, you may have to consider reviewing your companies terms and conditions. To make this process simpler we have teamed up with Blaser Mills Law who will be able to assist you in bringing your terms and conditions up to the correct standards.
Happy New Year to all our customers and friends. As the current COVID-19 situation worsens, the CoCredo team will continue to work remotely from home with full access to emails and telephone. All the team (including customer service and our Account Managers) will continue to be on hand to help with any queries you may have, and our online portal will continue to be available 24/7, 365 days a year.
Some of our team have children who are now at home, so please bear with us if you hear any background noise. We will, of course, try to keep this to a minimum.

We have recently rolled out a ‘help form’ on our reports. This has previously been available on our Dual Reports and enables the user to send a query directly to our customer service team about the report the user is viewing. The customer service team will see details of the report that has been run alongside the user’s query, allowing them to provide quick and accurate assistance.
In addition to these, we have also added a function to show when a report was last run on the report selection page. When a user is choosing a report to run on a particular company, the system now shows when a report on the desired company was last run. This way you can easily see if one of your colleagues has already run the report you are about to run.
Our lovely Account Manager Michelle gave birth to baby Benjamin last month in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, weighing a healthy 8lbs.
The birth was, as Michelle puts it “…an amazing birthing experience, he arrived safely in a very calm way to the music from the Mamma Mia Here we go again the musical at 22.41”.
CoCredo is proud to announce that we are now officially accredited by the FSQS (Financial Services Qualification System). The accreditation highlights a successful audit process and demonstrates our dedication and responsibility to our ongoing risk management processes and practices.

With 31st December 2020 nearing, and companies struggling to keep up to date with changes to international trade and Brexit, we have added a new feature to CoCredo's International Reports that allows customers quick access to important country trade information.

We have also reached a fantastic number of views on YouTube which is amazing. Our latest podcasts include Bryony Pettifor and Charles and Josh Mayhew.

The team at CoCredo have been blown away by receiving not just one but 5 award nominations during the last few months.
The nominations come from 3 different awarding bodies, which include the Credit Connect Awards where they are nominated in the Best Credit Reference and Information Solution and Technology Team of the Year categories. They are also finalists in the Credit Awards for Credit Information Provider of the Year and Best Company to Work For; and finally, the Women in Credit Awards, where they are nominated in the Employer of the Year category.
Earlier this year the Bounce Back loan scheme and the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (which is for larger amounts, but not 100% state-guaranteed) were introduced. These schemes have been a godsend to many businesses who have been struggling financially.
This year’s Oxford Children’s Hospital Golf Day was always going to be a more subdued affair than in previous years, with fewer people and social distancing rules in place. However, despite this, the teams still managed to get outside enjoy a great round of golf.
Our lovely Corporate Account Manager, Michelle Muggeridge is leaving to have her baby shortly and we wanted to wish her all the best.

Earlier this month Dan was asked to take part in a podcast with Mark Harris (the Enterprise Doctor). Mark is a business consultant and advisor, as well as being a presenter on Marlow FM.
When Dan was invited to talk on the podcast, we knew that Mark was going to ask some probing questions. Dan is usually the one asking questions on our own Podcast, but this time he was in the hot seat. Luckily, Dan was cool under pressure and answered questions such as ‘What’s the point of credit reports.’
The finalists for the fourth annual Credit & Collections Technology Awards, the UK’s celebration of technology innovators in credit and collections, were revealed earlier this month. Over the past few months, we have been looking at a variety of feedback we have had about our dashboard pages, and so our technical team have been hard at work creating a visual refresh of the dashboard.
The key purpose of this update is to put the most commonly used functions in the most convenient locations. This makes using our platform easier than ever and ensures that the functions you need are easily found whatever page you may find yourself on within our site. With this in mind, you will see that the company and director search form will become available on most pages throughout our dashboard, allowing for speedy searches. We will also be moving the links to your various account pages from the left-hand side of the dashboard page, up into the main navigation at the top of the page; ensuring that these links are available to you no matter where you are within the dashboard.

CoCredo is delighted to tell you that a new date for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, Charity Golf Day has been announced. It will now be held on 11th September 2020.
The organisers (including our MD, Dan Hancocks (MCICM) have been keeping an eye on government guidelines for COVID19, as well as seeing how the country wants to thank and support the NHS for their extraordinary work and commitment.
They’re keen to hold the Golf Day this year, safely and within the government guidelines. Therefore, with this in mind they have:
– Limited to 18 teams, 1 team per hole
– They will hold outdoor registration and breakfast, with clear and strict social distancing
–And the evening dinner will now be an outdoor, socially-distanced BBQ dinner and charity auction/raffle
Studley Wood Golf Club is working closely with the organisers to ensure the day’s logistics keep everyone safe, whilst still making it the enjoyable, fund-raising day it’s always been.

As you are probably aware, CoCredo has been involved in lots of exciting projects over the last few months. Below are two virtual events that we have coming up over the next few weeks,
We have recently launched our new podcast Talking Credit. This has been designed to bring you the latest industry stories from credit professionals. Our first recording took place just before lockdown and was with Laurie Beagle and Martyn Brooke from Forums International. In the first part of this interview Dan Hancocks (our MD at CoCredo) discusses the issues surrounding the Late Payment Act, offshoring and the rise in limited companies filing as Micro-entities.
We have now implemented links into the DNA pie charts that are within our credit reports. This was requested by one of our customers and as you know here at CoCredo, we do our best to accommodate customer feedback and we thought that this was a great idea.
DNA portfolios are listed on the home page of the client’s dashboard. Each portfolio is presented with two graphs showing the structure of its content (see image above). One is showing proportions of businesses in the portfolio by risk index and another by credit limit.
The time has come for us to say goodbye to the lovely Natalie, who has been at CoCredo for the last year, covering Gemma on maternity leave in Customer Service.
She has found a wonderful new job to go to in the mental health sector, which is her passion, and we are delighted she has found something within her chosen sector to go to.
Dan has been invited to join Laurie Beagle at this week’s Forums International Coffee morning session to discuss what is happening at the moment within the credit reporting sector.
The event is happening on 2nd June and is aptly named ‘Credit Now,’ Dan will be talking about how the sector is facing many challenges and what has and can be done to help you make vital credit decisions.

We are all swimming in unchartered territory at the moment, and committing to that vital yes or no credit decision is putting many credit departments under significant pressure.
Last month Dan Hancocks (MCICM) enjoyed being the guest speaker at a Zoom event hosted by Chris Sanders FCICM and the CICMQ team.
It was great to see so many customers and fellow industry professionals joining in the discussion. We look forward to working closely with the CICMQ in the future and to attending many more of their sessions over the coming weeks.

Sadly the Oxford Children’s Hospital charity golf day has had to be postponed due to the current coronavirus situation. Please see the official message from the OCH below...
As you may well have already guessed, we're postponing the Oxford Children's Hospital Charity Golf Day planned for 12th June at Studley Wood.
Whilst we know that this is very much one of the highlights on many of our calendars each year, having discussed it amongst the hospital team and the golf club, and taking into account the Government's advice, we think it unlikely restrictions will have lifted enough to run the event on the date planned.
What does this mean?
Well, we are going to reschedule it. It's looking like it will now be held in the Autumn of this year. Obviously this is subject to change based on the Government's advice on gatherings, social distancing and all that. But that's what we're aiming for and we're in touch with Ken at Studley Wood about getting a date pencilled in.
In answer to your question about the prizes and money donated, again, this isn't set in stone. Obviously, we'd love it if anything you pledged would remain and we could use it for when we hold the event later in the year. But we also recognise that some have been affected more than others financially during this crisis and you may wish to have your donations refunded.
If you are happy to roll your sponsorship, entrance fees and donations over until the rescheduled event, you do not need to do anything. However, if you would like to contact us about getting a refund, please email us back and provide your phone number and one of the team will call you to discuss how best this can be achieved.
It's been a really tricky decision to take, but an obvious one and we hope you all understand. However, lots of work is going on in the background to ensure that when we all get through the other side of this crisis, we can hold this golf day in support of the Oxford Children's Hospital - which we all hold dearly.
